Cycling Ascents offers to plan, execute and therefore ensure you have the best possible cycling holiday by:

Providing well maintained and convenient accommodation in Bourg D’Oisans

Recommendations for local bicycle hire if required (third party companies)

Recommendations for vehicle transfers (third party companies)

For B&B guests - offering route advivce each morning  for the duration of your stay - this is totally flexible.  Living in Bourg D’Oisans ensures that we can tailor each days ride to suit differing abilities/goals for the holiday

Guided rides (additional cost via training camp weeks, or by the hour) - we will accompany you on your rides, first of all meaning that you don’t have to worry about maps, getting lost, or selecting a route which may be beyond your ability.  Other advantages include: where to get water (there are many water fountains in the French Alps which means you can just carry powder), which cafes to stop at, the ability to change routes if required.  If you prefer to ride alone, we can help you plan your routes .  In addition, during guided rides we can offer advice on everything you need to know about riding in this area of the French Alps, including:

Climbing and descending

Pacing

Nutrition

Any other subject you are interested in (via a qualified cycling & triathlon coach)

Local knowledge (which passes are open, what clothing to take, estimated ride times, road conditions, good places to stop for food and drink etc)

Options of vehicle drop off - i.e. drive to the top of one pass so you can ride the next valley with only half the climbing (please note that we do not provide this service ourselves but via a local transfer company at additional cost).

Total flexibility - there are no day 1, day 2 etc style programs that must be stuck to. (although we are perfectly happy to suggest this if you like the structure!) If you fancy a day off to do something else (see ‘sightseeing’, or ‘other activities’) or want to spend some time by yourself, no problems!
